I am everyman
just look into my eyes
to peel away my guise
and see right through the lies

I am everywhere
just look at the faceless poor
on the ground beneath the door
cold, hungry wanting more

I am ever sad
why should I even try?
‘cause as long as I’m alive
I’ve got nothing to hide

I am everyman
just look into my eyes
you might be surprised
yours are just like mine.
. . . and miles to go

before i sleep
