She's a woman now
Longing for love
Longing for touch
Looking deep into his eyes
Seeing only dark; wonders where he's gone
Where his mind has drifted
She longs for times of joy
Longs for the time she was more than his toy
His pet, his friend
When two hearts could beat as one
Passion overtook them nighly
Making love until all movement ceased to be
When smiles graced their lips and with each smile came the familiar tingle
Longing for one another.
Days go by and love fades to like
Lust fades to an ember of what was
Memories fade replaced by words of anger and hate
Empty smiles; empty touch
Cold hearts beat separately.
