As far for the analogy you tried to make between Seinfeld's success and that of reality shows, VERY amusing but once again, you're WAY OFF.
When Jerry made a name for himself in Stand Up, it was 1980***24 years ago***there was no comedy club scene like there is now. Stand up wasn't even considered a real money making industry and there certainly wasn't some corny "Last Comic Standing" TV show where a half ass comic with a little luck could become a household name over night
BTW a "Hack" is someone who can't write their own material and/or does jokes that have been done to death. Seinfeld is know throughout the industry as being one of the hardest working and best writers in the business so if you feel the need to criticize him at least use a PROPER insult when doing so

Okay Seinfeld to me is like Country music .I'm a straight up hip hop motherfucka who should for really all the wrong reasons hate country music.But for some reason every once in a while it will be a Reba McIntire or Johnny Cash that stands out.Jerry is like that for me.Alot of people are going to like him and then there are people who just won't.
Granted I can see why jane haze wouldn't like
him.I'm not going to his concert if he comes to town either.But some of his material rings true and jane even if you don't like his material you have to respect him for that documentary "Comedian" that he did.I don't know maybe I don't know what I'm talking about but to each his own!

my take on things is this....

i think seinfeld is a great comic. i think what he has to say is funny, and even to a point, pretty well thought out. he is certainly not a hack... he may have a slightly annoying voice, but thats his "shtick" or however the hell jews spell that shit.

i remember being about 14 years old or so... and reading his book "sein language" and bursting into gales of laughter. i read it again *somewhat* recently... and the same exact thing happened.

love it or hate it, seinfeld brought a lot to comedy. he pretty much perfected observational humor, and speaks to a lot of people. i respect him big time in the comic world.

now, i dont think he is greatest of all time or anything... some comics, (namely richard) built that bridge with an audience. i watch rich, and feel like im a part of that time, a part of that room. who knows what it was like for people actually in that time and room. must have been awesome.

but dude said it... seinfeld is in the annals of comedy. and im not just being anal about it.

Chill Shawn. You only said that you didn't find Jerry funny and that's cool not everyone does. It's the comment Haze made about him being a "Hack" that put me on the defense. He's not a hack in any sense of the word
