Gareth,

A's are better off letting tejada go. They're going to focus on keeping zito, mulder, hudson. that's a good thing. with those guys you need a league average hitter at short with excellent defense, and you win games. if they had signed tejada, they wouldn't be able to afford those guys later, and bye bye winning record. my 2 cents.

cbreez0101,

Let's go expos! How can you not love a team that when a player on the team gets good enough to be an all-star thay trade his fucking ass. If you want to know why i live in N.C. and root for Montreal, Tim Raines and Andre Dawson in the 80's.

cbreez0101,

or the alternative that i like.... A's ownership spends a lil more money and keeps all of them around. and then win championships.

Gareth,

don't count on them spending any money. or at least, don't expect them to spend like the yankees! really, they'll have plenty of chances to win the world series if they keep this same pitching.

rsmayton,

i read a great article on baseballprospectus.com about the expos and the '94 strike. they have theories on what may have happened if the 94 world series hadn't been cancelled. the expos might have won (they were kicking ass that year, larry walker, pedro martinez i think, among many others). unfortunately, the strike hit the expos hardest, and it's been all downhill from there. what's really a bummer is how they describe the expos fan base. really great fans in montreal, it's just hard to support a team that bud selig could pull that plug on any time now.

i'll see if i can't dig up that article. fascinating, for baseball geeks.
