tamra,
U are a funny person that speak the m-f-ing truth!
Hang in there with the issues that you faced. I know it was a real drag to deal with all of that shit.
But look at the bright side:
You are alive - therefore can make some shit happen.
You do not live in New Orleans or Pakistan - but NY - even though it is the place where 911 occured - you are still alive.
I do not know you well enough to get down to the nitty gritty and start ghetto preaching on ya, but remember this always,
Whst don't kill you, will only make you stronger.
Oh, one more bright point, I am sure that there is some bootleg DVD's out there in NY of In Living Color. We are going to have to hook your shit up!
And this is not to you tamara, but to those who are raggin on comicview and BET. If your azz if a BLACK person, stop the hateration, ok. Enough already! Shit, black folks have to go thru too damn much then have your own kind start trippin', that is what is wrong with our race. So chill and be grateful that we got a m-fing TV channel, even though Mr. Johnson owns the n-fer and is getting all of cheese from the profits. Anyway, point is be proid and quit trippin.

tis2flyyy,
I guess you are talking about me and although I was being sarcastic in my prior post ..."why it got to be hating if I am telling the truth?"b.b
I do feel you about being glad/proud we got something cause I ain't on no "Willie Lynch" shit myself, the same arguemnts got "Amos-N-Andy" kicked off the air and put many blacks out of work in the 50's...... but this is an arguement I have heard from black people since the 80's!! Yes it is basically the only thing we got so why not want the best for it? Esspecially when it seems like it has the backing to do so...
The channel is owned by
http://www.viacom.com/ - Viacom' so when you put all the dots together this channel should be on the level as the other channels under the Viacom umbrella!!!Why shouldn't I want to see the same diverse entertainment that I see on MTV or VH1 (and they are music channels)or TV Land ("Sanford and Son","Good Times", and next month "What's Happenning").Hell why not even UPN.The channel has so much more potential than it gives itself credit for and it sister networks seem to get alot more love!
The thing I am saying is there is alot more untapped Black Entertainment than just music videos and the addition of The "Wayan's Brother","Jamie Foxx", and "In Living Color" is a step in the right direction.I know ten years ago they had "What's Happenning" and in the past few years they have had shows that were still airing like "The Parker's", "Girlfriends"and "Soul Food" and that's great but you know they got those on the hookup b/c of the affliation with Viacom.Comic View is great too but the add of these new shows are really an upgrade in the quality of programming.
But they have a new person in charge up at BET too so it looks like the upswing of good programming will continue.

JTF,
chile I made it to the camera store, bought one, took a picture of my ass and sent it back to the slave master with a caption written in cotton balls that said, "how ya like me now, beeeotch?"
does that answer the question?

bingolong,
I do hope the good programming continues. I stopped watching BET for the longest. shocking that a 24/7 entertainment network didn't peak my interest or entertain for even 10 minutes. I was scared to turn it on at night, there was *always* some woman's crotch on the screen from a music video.

I didn't know whether to throw a $1 dollar bill at the TV or the remote.
but I love Cheryl Underwood as the host of comic view. even when the comedians are boring (sex joke after sex joke, can we friggin get original??!

), Cheryl has me laughing hard.

JTF,
sure you can have a copy. but you know the slave master bought out the rights right after he received the photo so you'll have to contact his attorneys: Jefferson, Washington, Jackson & Lincoln LLP for copies. ;p
