Murphdogg,

Yeah, the old "troops" gets them every time! Especially here in Texas! Okay I managed to do the Seinfeld. It was spotty. But that's to be expected. It was original stuff. I got maybe 1 and a half good jokes out of it. The rest needs to be worked, abandoned or fleshed out more. Thanks for your support...

Murphdogg,
That "Give it up for our troops" is crap! I've only seen one comic that does it as a serious ploy, everyone knows that it's hack! ...but this guy also has been seen hacking Louis CK's material (and still manages paid gigs!!!)...so there you are.

jane_haze, I heard someone actually seriously do that, and say 'give it up for Lance Armstrong"..without having any Lance Armstrong jokes...

Murphdogg,
I don't think I'll ever envoke something, unless I'll have some sort of insulting, cynical thing to say behind it.
I did that with Presidents day... and the Seahawks... both had dissenting views... Seahawks fans didn't like that too much...

Murphdogg,
Moreso. If I tried to do the mainstream, everything is safe and funny/blue, then I'd feel too hack for my own good. Not calling others hack, just when I do it... it's not the best I could do. I'm all about making a statement, or having a message behind your jokes...

jane_haze, I think the message behind my jokes is "damn I drink alot". I don't know what kind of comic I am, I just talk about my life, I oddly enough get most of my paid gigs from urban rooms, so maybe I'm a urban comic, but that doesn't make sence cause I'm as caucasian as all git out.
