I just listened to Bill Hicks for the first time (the relentless album). Very impressive. He's definitely one of those artists that you wish wouldn've been around a lot longer. Good looking out for posting his name.

cire,
It's great to have you back honey. Your posts were missed

I'm happy you took the time to sit down and listen to some of Bill Hicks' work. He was truly ahead of his time and next to Mr. Pryor himself, there's no comedian I admire more.
Now that you've listened to Hicks I'm sure you can hear where Leary lifted his material from. Hey Nick Flanagan from Toronto, I know you'd like to believe that all the comics you know and love from today never stole from the greats of the past or even the new and undiscovered talent of today but they sure enough have.

The sad thing is that Leary made more money off of Bill's bits when he was already dead then hicks made when he was alive.
The point I'm trying to make runs deeper then money
Leary is a grave robber

smjmcomic,
But that's what I loved so much about Bill Hicks. He had offers to do commericals and pawn products for major companies but he turned them down. He didn't care about money, and getting on T.V.was secondary for him--ALL he wanted to do was tell the truth.
And yes it sucks that more people know who Dennis Leary is as opposed to him but Bill always knew WHO Bill was b/c he NEVER SOLD OUT;) May he rest in peace although I bet he's up there dancing knowing that
"The Legend"likes his work!

Shit if I were a dead comic and I found out Richard Pryor liked my material, I'd have to come back and tell somebody

Richard_Pryor,
he told you that? pffff... he is known... but i dont think he is anywhere near what you did. i dont think he will ever be for that matter.
fact is... there cant be a white richard pryor... there cant be any other color richard pryor. turth is... you raised the bar to a point where you are in a class of your own. maybe him saying that is more like saying "i am getting famous."
crank yankers though? hahaha... i like that they use comics... but some of the shit i see on that show is a lil too 7th grade for me to really get into. puppets barfing and throwing up all over the place isnt really my bag. but i give em an "E" for effort. lol
either way... just my thoughts for now...

Gareth,
Dude i wasn't saying he was a white Richard Pryor or anything of the sort. I just meant that Mr. Pryor liked Bill Hicks' work that's all and I'm sure he's dancing up in heaven knowing that
