That Old Hippie Chick,

Amen. No one could put it any better than that. I pray that others heed your words...

astonamous,

Addiction really is a disease. Maybe one day the masses will realize that and stop treating it like a moral failing. Rest in peace, Mitch.

Prankenstein,

Great point, I think the problem is people use that word "addiction" too liberally. It has lost its power, and in turn people don't give true addiction the attention it deserves.

robfharris,

As a comic, it hurts when we lose a co-worker. Mitch was one a kind. I never got to meet him, hell, I'm still just a strugglin comic tryin to make it, but I deeply admired his work. I hate to say it, but if his death turns out to be drug related, I won't be too surprised.

Mitch, RIP friend. Tell the Big Guy the bit about the candy bars, he'll laugh till it hurts, just like we all did. We miss you, God Bless.

podunkcomic_05,
Wow I just had a buddy call me and tell me there was this funny comedian on Comedy Central to check it out.It was Hedberg.I told him he had passed away a few months ago and my friend was shocked. He told me anytime this special came on he would stop everything and watch it and he thought "this guy could be a breakout like Chappelle....." b.b

bingolong,
Hedberg was just about there, as far as the HBO special he was waiting for. The guy was witty and had a hilarious stage presence. it really sucks that someone who made us laugh so much, someone who most of us didn't even know, is not here any longer to continue to put smiles on our faces and laughter in our hearts. damn. B-) <----Mitch

onthecorner,

Yeah... I'm starting to do this comedy thing on a regular basis and both of the clubs I go to have pics of Mitch on the walls proudly displayed. I find myself looking up to them thinking,"If only I could somehow bring people as much joy as Mitch did.." b.b

And to think, last december, I had the opportunity to see mitch and stephen lynch or Marc Maron. I chose Maron, because I said to myself, "He'll be back around..."
