That convention in Indy you went to sounds wonderful! So glad to hear your words moved people-isn't that
THE most AWESOME feeling on the planet?
And you got to meet all of those great actors too, WOW
Maybe I will check out the next one-especially if Billy Dee Williams is gonna be there-he's STILL fine as hell
Jenny
Glad our comments on our addiction to this

SweetLuchia,
I NOW CROWN YOU "PRINCESS LUCHIA"!!!
I have to say you really keep up a great spirit around these boards and those words to Jennifer were really cool.
You make my day with some of your posts and I really appreciate you being 'round here. Just thought I'd let you know.
Yeah, the convention is something. Let me know I must be destined for something more than where I'm at right now. It was a really cool feeling to say the least.

Luchia,
You know Billy Dee is actually in town this week for a play "If These Hips Could Talk". If I see him, I'll let him know how you feel.
;p
It was funny, but when i met him at the convention. I didn't even bring up Star Wars, I was telling him how much i dug him in "Bingo Long" and "Lady Sings the Blues". I think he was glad to hear that. Two more great films featuring Mr. P. Didn't he just break your heart as Piano Man? I still well up every time I see that scene with him and the drug dealers. It was soooo real! Great dramatic acting!

dougdigitalpro,
In response to your post about Mr. P as Piano man in [/i]Lady Sings The Blues[/i], Oh my! Tears well up just thinkin bout him in that role
You are SOOOOOOOO right he was
EXCELLENT! He should've gotten a best supporting actor Oscar for that role

You're a movie buff-did the fucks at the "Academy" even nominate him that year?
As for giving a message to Billy Dee for me SURE if ya can ;p Tell him the next time he's in NYC there's an Italian girl from Queens who'd like to meet him

Me and about 100 others

SweetLuchia,
Now THAT made me smile!
Thank you. I am a Jedi Knight, but I'm trying to keep it on the lo lo.

;p So don't tell anybody.
It is something. I have never (other than my Stars Wars sites) hung out on boards like this and even there I don't post nearly as much as I do here. This is a first for me, definitely. I just feel like I can relate to y'all. It seems we're all on the same level and there's a genuine affection. Which is probably rare on ANY message board.
I guess it's just cuz we're keeping it REAL!
And that's hard to find nowadays.

Will do.
Nope. To think he did all that great work and never got nominated once. Diana Ross got nominated for best actress but didn't win. She did a good job, but I'm always thrown by the fact that she doesn't look ANYTHING like Billy Holiday! It was a great film nonetheless. I believe I read on a post somewhere here that Jen was gonna try to get the acamedy to award Mr. P with a special award or something. I would love to see that happen and if we need to petition, let's get cracking!
