Just listened to 'Shimmy Shimmy Ya' by the old dirty bastard for the first time. Nice to hear mr pryor's voice being sampled at the beginning (and at the end too!) -
"Oh fuck you, can't even sing".

Yeah ODB and the RZA hooked that up!!I love hearing shit like that with Rich in it.Yesterday I was listening to this record that came out in '91 by Organized Konfusion called "Who Stole My Last Piece Of Chicken?" I forgot about how the song used part of "That Nigger's Crazy", man it was crazy!!:lol:

I think that it was sampled out respect but the fact that Rich didn't get his due is a major problem.As a producer myself I can't lie I've been sampling Rich since I first started (I love the 80's).But I ain't made no money off of it.
I'm so on the fence b/c I know the law but putting that sample in there was raw and I understand the whole credo behind hip-hop.Sampling is a major part of the artform.It's wrong to sample somebody and not pay them, but boy does it make my day to hear Rich incorporated in a song.....
