this all reminds me of the advice my uncle gave me before I left home..."you can lead a horse to water, but that don't mean you can castrate a three testicled muskrat with a crayon"...my uncle was shcizto..but none the less..his words haunt me till this day

That Old Hippie Chick,
Here's some advice you need but few people will tell you: bomb your way to success. That's right. Expect to bomb. Bombing is inevitable and a crucial part of developing a good set. If you anticipate bombing, it won't devastate you when it happens. But learn from failures. Try to tape your sets and listen to them. I know it's painful, but often the audience will give you clues on where to go next with a joke. You can modify a bit accordingly until it clicks onstage.

mojones,
Well, everyone come out and watch me bomb tomorrow night at the coffee shop. Guaranteed more bombing than Fallujah!
I'm gonna have my first crowd...people who are actually coming to see me--without me asking them to come at all!!!
5-7 people. Not bad if I do say so myself, but now I just can't suck.
Jane
