How I came to know and love Richard

I have always loved Richard Pryor since I was young. My parents would only let me watch The Wiz and The Toy with Richard Pryor in it. Then there was a day when I found one of Richard Pryor's albums wedged in with some of my dad's James Brown stuff and I had asked my dad about it and he told me about richard Pryor and how he did stand up way before I was born and then I got even more curious because my dad wouldn't let me listen to it. I remember trying all the time to pry the album out of this cabinet that my dad had and it would always start to bend then I'd get scared and let it go. Then I would try to take out all the albums to get to the Pryor one but always ended up getting caught. Then eventually my dad moved it cause I never saw it again. So, when I got a little older around 14 my brother's started letting me watch his stand up along with some other comedians. Then after that I started to watch other movies that he had been in before I was born. Then it was like everything that I saw that had just a clip of Pryor in it I would holler and scream. Like oh did you know Pryor was in this movie. It was new to me but, old to my family. I still cry at Lady sings the Blues when Richard dies. I still say it's fucked up they didn't have to kill him. I just love continuously watching him. He always makes me laugh when I'm feeling down. I have a list of Comedians that I love but for me Pryor will always be at the top. I love you Rich and the work that you have done. Thank you for bringing laughter into our lives. :p
