Alicia Keys is filling in for Kelly Ripa on the Regis show today. That Philbin guy must be a eunuch because Keys is finer than a mo'fo. I can't listen to her or look in her direction without screaming: "GIMME SOME OF THAT GOLDEN STUFF!!!!"
I bet her doctor give her exams on the house!!! I'll stand in line just to have the privilege of being rejected. Making me religious over here -- wanna lay hands on her and freak in tongues... :p

				mojones,
She is d...damn fine!
I saw her first when she did that 911 concert and she sand [/i]Someday We'll All Be Free.[/i] She sounded good but something was missing. I could only think of what I heard somewhere, that you can't sing a love song until you've had your heart broken. That's what was missing. SHe was singing it with a smile on her face. When Donny absolutely KILLED that song it was the pain and torture that really brought it out.
That's why I like her look, and she's got a nice voice, but I can't listen to her music. It's all that bump-bump artificial new sound, with no depth to it. If she had come up in '73...

				JTF,
I do feel you on all that for but when "Fallin" came out I was very surprised it hit because of the feel it had.But you are right what if Hathaway got ahold of that?

				JTF,
I disagree with your comment that she has an artificial sound now. I think she is one of the most talented and origional sounds out there. I mean, look at Ashanti or Britney Spears.

				brandes,
by "artificial" I meant the overall, overproduced sound that most music has today... and her music is no different. Her version of [/i]How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore[/i] is a perfect example. If you get rid of the awful sounding drum machine it wouldn't sound bad...

				JTF,
Of course, the same can be said for every rapper out there. I'm not dissing any music. But real singing, I'm talking a la Stevie Wonder/Pattie Labelle/Natalie Cole/Teena Marie, is light years ahead of anything on the market today. That's why Prince made the most money touring last year. He's a true musician who believes in playing music. His latest cd, though, leaves much to be desired. I like a lot of hip hop, but much of it has ushered in a pimp culture that's diametrically opposed to musicianship. As a classical trained pianist, there's no doubt that Keys is good. But true art isn't as marketable nowadays..
