NRANEWS

I hope I'm not the onle one who is frightened by nranews.com

No, I'm not cowering in a corner. I just think that the prospect of these gun-nuts trying to become mainstream is not a good thing.

Imagine a USA where the most important ammendment to the constitution is the second. Where everyone walks around with any kind of gun they damn well feel like. Some guy thinks you're driving too slow.. does he flip you off? Nope, he pulls out a gun. There are far too many unstable people out there and having them carry automatic weapons is a scary prospect to me. For some reason, I don't think that many of the members of the NRA have had friends killed by gun violence.

JTF,
The NRA scares the hell out of me. I suppose I can understand wanting to protect the right to bear arms, to protect one's self and there are SOME benefits to hunting - although I hate it. But there's no point for Joe Blow to have a semiautomatic machine gun. And why should the NRA have such problems with background checks? Not everyone should have the "right to bear arms." Some people's past shows they're too damn crazy! homicidal even! :X

smjmcomic,
The only thing I know about KKK and NRA ties are the year one was declared illegal, the other was created. That's interesting. I found that out from the Michael Moore "bowling for columbine" movie. Pretty interesting movie - I'm sure the NRA hates him.

I don't see any benefit to hunting. Unless the grocery store runs out of meat or there is a shortage why do we need to hunt? How do you get satisfaction killing a defenseless animal?

astonamous,
That's exactly what I meant about the benefit of hunting. If animals aren't thinned out in one way, i.e. hunting, nature takes over and thins them out another, i.e. starvation. I don't see what enjoyment there is other than being outdoors - and you don't have to hunt to go out into the woods!

But if hunters use the animal as opposed to leaving it to rot and it's an animal that gets overpopulated, such as deer, then there are benefits all the way around.

But for people who enjoy the challenge of hunting - where's the challenge of shooting a defenseless animal from a hidden treestand with a semiautomatic weapon? That's not a challenge, it's fish in a barrel.

astonamous,

Ohhhh .... Yea, god forbid some NRA american patriot get close to him with a gun in his pocket. What's he so fuckin' afraid of? Those aren't the people that want to see him gone!
