Mike was a man that Suzy did love
She was gracious and thanked the Heavens above.
He brought her laughter and he brought her mirth.
They held a bond like the sky and the Earth.
They held hands together and watched the sunrise
No one could stop that joy in their eyes.
A love that'd last and everybody knew
That there was something special between the two
But then one day, the Lord took him away.
Like a fall of a wave, while making a save.
Suzy stood helpless, there was nothing she could do.
Now she longs for the man she once knew.
Jenni knew Dave he was humble and good
They never had sex, though they knew they could
A special kinda friendship that would melt the snow
It was destined for greatness and it sure did show
They lay in the bed talking about the things to come
The future was bright as the midnight sun
Never had they had a love so pure
Together forever, they knew it for sure.
But then one day they Lord took him away
Like a bullet to the back, tragedy had to attack.
Jenni's on the phone helpless, there was nothing she could do.
Now she longs for the man that she once knew.
Suzy grew up and became someone elses wives,
A marriage so frail, froth with violence and knives.
Jenni got married in a hurried rush,
Her husband oblivious to that forgotten crush.
Kids were born and told of those days,
When mothers were happy with mike or dave.
The husbands are gone in body or mind,
But those memories of past were never left behind.
Of that day the Lord took them away
Like a stranger in the night, young love took its flight.
