Time Lies

Time Lies
Time lies.
It pulls our expectations with its seamless hands.
It turns our aspirations into stubborn stands.
Until we find ourselves no longer wise.
Time lies.
Time lies.
And it does so day by day, year after phantom year.
We've created it to have somewhere to put our fear.
The truth of this shows in our eyes.
Time Lies.
Is it linear or curved?
Did we miss it when we swerved off the road to riches (sons of bitches!) to focus on the now?
Is it sideways? Is it straight?
Must we trust the hand of fate we've heard so much about but never met, so far, somehow?
Time lies
It’s the meter that we're trained to use to verify.
This comparative reality we occupy.
It drags on and on... and then it flies.
Time lies
