Cook, Kelley and other comics

Though I definitely think he's talented and entertaining, Dane Cook seems to be a tad over-rated to me. Robert Kelley, on the other hand, is hilarious. I think Cook's success is due to his great looks and animated stage presence moreso than his sense of humor. But hey, more power to him. After listening to Cook's Retaliation CD, I have an even greater appreciation for Patton Oswalt and Dave Attel.

Hey whatever happened to that Reginald D. Hunter guy over in the UK? Last year, he was supposedly taking the comedy world by storm and here we are now and most of us have never heard of him. And for good reason. This dude turns down the one award that would've been a boon to his career. In the immortal words of Blade, "there's always some muthaf*cker trying to ice skate uphill." Nevertheless, I wish him the best...

You guys are crazy. Cook is funny. I just ocasionally fall prey to sour grapes. My sets are hits and misses too. In fact, the longer I go without bombing...the worse the eventual bomb will be. You should see me when I kill, afterwards I'm a nervous wreck..I'm always afraid my next set will be like 9/11 onstage.
