You better watch out for that DNR/Do not resuscitate option because it aint nothing but a disclaimer for the donut eating no help nurses to sit on their fat ass talking on the telephone while you need some help.
We had a lady that couldn't survive without oxygen, when her line got disconnected she'd turn blue and her chin would hit her chest almost immediately then when reconnected she'd perk up and start yapping again, she was DNR for entirely diffrent reasons and as long as she was hooked to a oxygen supply needed minimal assistence, the lady died because her nurse was planning a wedding over the phone and refused to walk to the ladys room and reconnect her oxygen that had come undone while a aide that didn't know her was helping, the nsg aide panic ed when the lady slumped over and ran for the nurse who told her "don't worry about it she's DNR anyway" and proceeded with the wedding plans before checking on the patient and then notifying physicians and family of the recent change in condition.
