Questions! Questions! For the Pryors

Mr. P & Jen,
I tried to send this off last night but it didn't go through. I hope it goes through tonight.
I was shaving last night and thinking and shit and I was suddenly hit with all these questions I've wanted to ask Mr. P but couldn't.

Now I guess I have the chance.
These were the ones that hit me last night:

Jim Brown-

In Dec. of 2002 I went to see a film premiere that was held here for a documentary on Jim Brown's life by Spike Lee. It as a decent film but I was miffed by the section on him and his relationship with Mr. P. He went on for s few minutes talking about how Mr. P had betrayed him and all and i was thinking to myself, "Why is he venting all of this now? When the man can't come out to defend himself?" All the stuff they say about how much of a man Jim Brown is and I thought that was on the weak side to be blasting Mr. P like that at this point in time. I've seen a few, not many, but a few spots where people who felt like they were done wrong by Mr. P and now that he's got MS feel they come out and bash him because when he was healthy they would've been scared as fuck to make those comments. I just don't think it was fair and I never heard Mr. P say one negative thing ever in the press or otherwise about Jim Brown.
Have you guys had any recent contact with him and have you seen this film?

Bill Cosby-

I know Mr. P and the Cos have a long, old history together and I wanted to know has he come around in recent years to visit or does he contact you guys at all? I didn't have a good relationship with my father and between "The Cosby Show" and seeing Mr. P on the big screen, they both filled that void for me. Redd Foxx also from watching "Sanford & Son".

Here & Now-

What was your decision behind using "Just Be Good To Me" in the end credits of that movie. I first saw it in the theatre when I was 13 and I stayed through the whole end credit sequence JUST to hear this great music and watch Mr. P clown. I don't even like the version with words, just this instrumental version. It was a perfect ending for a great stand up film.

The First-

Were you the first stand up comedian to ever do a live concert film? I can't think of anyone else before you who did. If you were, that was some bold shit to pull off back then. A black man standing on stage for an hour and a half talking shit on the big screen! Classic!

dougdigitalpro,
Alot of questions!
Jim Brown is a dishonarable fuck-how's that!! It's a big long not so interesting story! Jim has no right to diss RIchard-I know he did! Richard made him President of Richard's film company and Jim proceeded to destroy it! Too much detail to go into here!
Later for the rest-
RP's bio goes into some of it!

Jennifer,
Yeah, i figured out that much. And the fact that Spike was messing with him made me question his integrity. Spike must've couldn't find a distributor for it because I haven't seen the film on cable or at any video stores. Figures. The billing for the event had Spike & Jim scheduled to be there and only Spike showed. Figures, once again. Thanks for answering. Look forward to hearing about the others.

I'm gonna go find my book tonight and read about it.
Man, I just thought, I bought that book almost ten years ago. It's time for a new read through!

I looked for my book today and couldn't find it. Damn! Damn! DAMN! I think it may be at my mother's house. I'll have to check. Anyway, could you still answer my questions if possible?

Much Luv, S.C.

dougdigitalpro,
all this stuff is available-we really don't want to play history book when the stuff is available to you; for starters, read Richard's bio here on the site.

Jennifer,
Sorry for asking so many questions. I wasn't trying to be a pest. They were just questions that I wouldn't find in any book. Things i personally was interested in.

I already read the bio and know about Mr. P's history. They were just everyday questions.

WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN.
