Okay I just saw it today and I don't see what all the hoopla is about....I saw this movie in 2004 when it was called " National Treasure"....

Really a good enjoyable movie but it wasn't nothing I need to rush to see....

Had some deep things to think about and I can understand all the religious uproar but I didn't see anything that I didn't see in Kevin Smith's Dogma...

So I ran into a buddy who just saw the flick right before I went in to peep it and told me the filck was not as good as the book....and afterwards I was like what the hell was missing.... don't get me wrong the movie was really good but the hype made it seem like there was more to be expected...

I know the book was a bestseller but what made the book stand out that the movie might have not touched on?

bingolong,

"Mary H. Christ"....

I have not seen it but I heard people didn't like it because they had to condense so much of it to get it into movie time. or something like that.

bingolong,

They must have touched some religeous things pretty accurately to send Opus dei in an uproar. I have never heard another time when the Catholic church has been so upset over a movie. Stigmata, 6th Day, Magdelene Sister's, The Omen never got so much as a bat of the eye from them. I haven't read the book yet, but I am interested in seeing the movie.

Momof5,

Wait what about Mel Gibson's Passion of Christ ..

That caused a lot of heated discussion as well.

I would think if you didn't think you'd enjoy a peticular movies topic , just don't go see it, after all it is fiction .And you'll never stop or censor creative endeavors here in the U.S.A. Amen :)

Momof5,
...yeah and DaVinci is against the people who brought you "Passion" so it's like the shoe is on the other foot now....

...I bet you a priest goes and sees the DaVinci Code and be like:

"....damn you mean all this time we could have been fucking?"

Pray for me.... b.b

Some form of Clergy can marry and have kids.. The Deacons. All the other titles are status symbols among the males. Pope being Alpha. Its like saying.. I sacrifice the most for our lord and I love and understand him more that you do. This is my own personal opinion, but I can't follow a religeon that says babies are a gift from God, then in the same breath say that they go to hell if they are not Christened. There's a whole list of moronic rules in catholisism. I'll never forget that TV special I saw about the Vatican and the Papal Chair. It was on a while back. Just the right type of chair for little children to hide in under his robes..

Momof5,
I saw one on a special white papal chair , but the chair was for the newly elected pope to sit on and be " checked out " by another priest in the vatican , to make sure he had ~cojones~, because a woman may or may not have served aa pope way back when , by impersonating a man and that caused all kinds of conniption type fits among the catlics, 8-O
