shouldn't the NBC show Last Comic Standing have me laughing at some point??? *scratching head*

OMG my root canal w/happy gas was more hysterical. my doctor had me busting a gut while drilling for gold!

this show is painful, ab-so-fucking-loooot-leeee painful!!!

I say rename the show to Last Viewer Watching, then have a call in contest and hopefully someone will call in. 8-o if that one person calls, give them the prize.

perhaps NBC should take notes from other comedians who define funny. I saw a woman on Comedy Central a few weeks ago and I kept saying don't forget to get her name. I was dying laughing from beginning to end. her jokes included calling Lone Star(?) and saying something like I'm in the back seat and I'm on a road trip w/my parents. Lone Star asks what is the emergency, she says I repeat, I'm in the back seat on a road trip w/my parents.

then she talks about Vegas and borrowing the hotel's iron. there was so much security to get it back because what could be more exciting than gambling and Vegas shows - IRONING!! you start calling folks to have them bring their wrinkled clothes by.

she's funny....so if anyone knows her name, let me know. her entire set was a laugh riot. :)

Murphdogg,

once again so you have a visual, like Duh-duh-duh Man in New Jack City: Who? oh is that the female comedian that was on Comedy Central? she totally rocked!

but that NBC Last Comic Snoring show has to go. or maybe it's the editor who's editing out the funny stuff. *shruggin* ;p

bcddjjsc690,
See that's the problem with "reality shows" -- no reality! Instead, the writers and producers of these shows put their spin on everything to create heroes, villians, sentimental favorites etc. They superimpose their preconceived narrative on the show. A predetermined outcome! On second thought that does have similarities to some stand up comedy competitions. Reality shows are all purveyors of false advertising. Reality my @$$! This stuff is just low-tech tv dramas and sitcoms. It's about as real as the WWE.

mojones,

I tried out for that show in Chitown. It is so rigged man, there were some funny cats that didn't even get a soundbyte in the show. I didn't and I am on stage at least 2x a week. It's all bullish man

mojones,

yeah see I've been wondering for a couple of years about these shows since a few contestants have been on other shows previously, as in they're actors/singers/dancers to begin with. like Constantine on Elimi-date which I know is just wanna be actors on that dumb ass show. what woman or man competes for a jackass??? oh wait...Mrs. Cheney competed for her man!

but any whoooo...

then a couple of other contestants appearing in commercials before the reality show.

I think it's all just marketing and advertising bullshit. get people so involved in these "cherry picked" characters' lives and sell products around their asses. and how do they know people are watching?? mofo's are calling and voting in!

Son of the Circus,

yeah and I bet auditions w/the general public is for more publicity only. I'm just one of the last few to buy into the reality show hype, as in not buying the reality part.

but damn if I don't love me some Fantasia's voice. reality or not and didn't follow American Idol other than hilarious auditions, just glad her LP was released.
