Did I ever tell you all this story? I'm from Waterloo Ontario. One summer about 20 years ago I worked as a waiter in my home town. There was this buck-toothed little bus-boy who every one liked who worked with us. He walked up to John Candy in the airport one time in Toronto and asked for his autograph. Candy looks at him and goes.."Fuck off kid." Candy sees the kid is all embarrassed and says.."I'm just kidding." with a big smile on his face. Puts his arm around him and walks out the teminal with him until his car came and picked him up, laughing and joking with him the whole way... I'm watching "Uncle Buck" and remembered this story...

walrusjk,
Yeah That is a real cool story....he left way too soon....and speaking of "Uncle Buck"....I have a friend that was one of the guys that is mumbling and gets his hat blown off when "Uncle Buck" is pulling up in front of the school to drop off the kids...

bingolong, That's cool man. I think "Trains, Planes and Automobiles" is his best work movie wize. When he and Steve Martin wake up hugging on each other is just so funny. That movie has it all. The range of emotion is really rare in that movie. Funny and sad. Especially if you're a guy...

Jennifer,
I hope you didn't take that as a sexist remark. It just makes most guys cringe to have to share a bed, have different cleanliness issues, etc. with a stranger who you're not crazy about and those two characters are male so that's why I said "especially if you're a guy."

Speaking of that movie....after Candy got the motel room for him and Steve Martin. In the morning when they woke up together Martin goes into the washroom and dips his hands into the sink and splashes water on his face, Smells his hands, looks down at the sink that, turns out Candy had filled with water the night before and soaking his socks in. Martin looks appauled and reached for a towel which turns out to be Candy's underwear and dabs his face. The camera pans in hard on Martin once he realizes it, with a look of horror on his face. Priceless
