For all you who are asking where are all the funny female comics at- The one who is going to take the crown is my wife-DARIA-down here in Australia-She has put on a few posts-and I'm just getting my word in on her behalf cause she's way too humble to say it. But believe me, it's only a matter of time. Regards JC

The world could use some great lady comics

You should post some mp3's of her act on the net ;) (I should have some of my act on the net at the end of the month)

I'd love to hear what she has to say

Hey JC,

How cool of you to give props to your wife ;) Shawn is right she should try and put some MP3's on the net. I'm a big Wanda Sykes fan myself I think she's one of the witiest female comics on the stage today.

Hopefully I'll get to Aussie someday to check out Daria too

Daria,
Good looking out for your wifey. I hope she's puttin' it down down under. As for Female comics....you've got:
Adele Givens, Coca Brown, Belinda, Angela Means, Melanie Comarcho, Leslie, Retha Jones, Iva LaShon, Luenelle, Hope Flood, Tess Drake, Loni Love,I can keep going if you like but these are ladies doing it well and that have a loyal following. Keep a look out for them because they are blowing up the stage.

Robbie,

That's the west coast. Out here on the east coast we've got a few too. There's Judy Gold and Susie Essman at the top of the food chain, then theres Mugga, Vanessa Hollingshead, Sue Costello, Lyn Koplitz, Marina Franklin and a lot of others. And while we're boasting about funny wives, let me just let you all know about mine, Leighann Lord - Doing it half as long as I have, and already she's done twice as much TV.

Jim

Jim Mendrinos,
Sorry, I forgot the east coast ladies. and you forgot Sunda Croonquest. I haven't talked to Judy Gold in 10years, she's a very funny lady not to mentions 3" taller than me.

Robbie,

I forgot Sunda because she changed coasts! You gotta take care of the LA ladies.

Hey, someone said that Marsha Warfield has been hitting the LA clubs again, any truth to that? She was extremely funny when she did stand-up, it'd be nice to have her back.

Jim Mendrinos,

Yeah Jim I agree, Marsha was very funny when she was doing stand up. Why did she stop? As a stand up myself, I'm perplexed by comics who do it for years & years and then just stop. How can they do that?!!! 8-o 8-O
The feeling of being on stage--getting LOVE & Laughter from complete strangers...there are no words to describe it. To me it's literally "Heaven On Earth" That's what I think Heaven will be like...feeling that SPECIAL feeling you get while you're on stage for Eternity ):)
Man I hope I make it

Everyone,

What? No love for Maria Bamford, DeGeneres, Kathleen Madigen and Laura Kightlinger? You already have Adele Givens and Sykes...so I'll let you slide.

And aside from that...I've been asking this for a while--are there any extremely hateful, similar female versions of Bill Hicks or George Carlin types? Possibly Janeane Garafiloafillo, but other than that...past or present.
