I listen to Mr. Pryor at least once a week. Usually while at work, if not I'll watch the videos at home. He always cheers me up when in a bad/bored mood (as frequently happens at work for many of us).
I don't think of him as a comic. More like catching up with an old friend who's telling you stories that make your sides split with laughter. Stories that you can relate to in some way and make you re-examine your own virtues.
I believe that's the magic of listening to Richard Pryor.
I've spotted the complete recordings boxset in Melbourne for $120. I may have to grab it to complete my collection!
