RP - Live in Concert

This has just been released on DVD in the UK in a rather nice box set with loads of features. That is nice but not important.
What is, is the fucking epiphany that I have experienced watching it. I've had the RP 'And It's Deep Too' box set for four years and I know them by heart but I've never actually seen them performed. I knew he was good on the page but my god - on the stage, the man was just incredible. Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy et al are bullshitting themselves in their comparisons - not only did he act on stage, he made the stage part of his act like noone ever has since.
Having only ever really listened to Pryor I have focussed on the written element of his comedy. However, having watched RP tonight, I realise that true comedy is all encompassing. The mouth is nothing without the body.
My god - the man is a genius.
