The Power

I wrote this a couple of years ago when my mother died.
The Power
By Judson Murray
When you've lost someone close,
It hurts like hell,
And it seems the World's gone astray
So you've got to stay strong
‘Cause you did nothing wrong.
Sometimes things just happen that way.
When she left me alone,
Through no fault of her own,
I was sure that this was the end.
No matter how hard I try
I just can’t say goodbye,
To my Mother, my buddy, my friend.
It was cold when she died,
I was frozen inside,
And still I don’t like December.
But thank God ‘cause he gives us
The power to heal,
And he gives us the strength to remember.
