For the record, in case anyone still believes that Ronald Reagan was a saint of some sort.....
On June 23, many people will remember the murders of three civil rights workers in Philadelphia, Mississipi. What many will not remember is that Ronald Reagan kicked off his presidential campaign in Philadelphia, Mississippi, - giving this white supremacy racist town an honor for its refusal to find the murderers of the three martyrs. Even today, they want to let 'bygones be bygones.'
The purpose, of course,(at Trent Lott's invitation) was for Reagan to get the white southern vote. It worked....and he was forever grateful to the folks in Philadephia, Mississippi. Try to remember that the next time someone talks about how wonderful Reagan was.
