bingolong,
Great stories from all. I went to the game before the last one at Tiger Stadium, JTF. That was a great time. I took my daughter and she had a ball! :)

JTF & astonamous,
J.,the first dream I had about my father was like the one in the car except for certain details.I remember he was drunk and half-way driving off the road........
Do you guys think we might need a therepist online as someone suggested a few days ago?

bingolong,

My Pops died when I was 21. I'll dream about him occasionally. Once, I think it was more than a dream. In it I knew he was dead and that I was "dreaming" We were in his car and he was driving. I told him I missed him and he tried to avoid it. When I told him again he asked why I was saying it. I told him "Because you're dead..." He just laughed and said "Oh yeah. Well, I guess I miss you too. He then stopped driving and, well I got one last hug from the old man...

I felt his presence at a ball game once too. The last game at Tiger Stadium. For some reason, no one was sitting to my right for about two feet. The joint was packed. After Fick hit the grand slam and everybody was celebrating I felt a familiar presence on my right... I hadn't even been thinkin' about him either!

Well, I guess I'm ready for the loony bin, huh? ;p

dougdigitalpro,
Yeah my dad passed when I was 18 also and sometimes I'll have dreams about him too.Instead of him being dead he has been hiding out or sometimes it's like he didn't even go anywhere. Then I'll wake up all excited only to be letdown once I come to my senses........ b.b

dumbass,
 Good one. It's funny you guys talking about this because I heard a song last night that I played at my father's funeral. I was 18 and it was an old BeBe & CeCe Winans song "Don't Cry For Me" and I thought it summed him up perfectly and that's what he would've said to us because he was so strong. Me & him didn't have the closest realtionship but he was there and he took care of business.
I dream about him from time to time so I know he's still around speaking to me, kicking me in my ass!

Jennifer,

I'm feelin' some serious love here! :-x

You know I wasn't serious about that "faux pa" I don't find shit like that funny when it's serious either. But I also feel that if you can't laugh at death sometimes, what can you laugh at? As long as it's kept in halfway decent taste, that is... We all gotta go sometime and karma is a bitch!

My g/f was pissed at me last weekend because I make a quick quip about my (dead) father. He was creamated against his wishes, so he's ash now. My sister just got engaged and wants me to give her away. I said to my g/f that it's too bad that my Pops couldn't be there, then I blurted out without thinking that maybe he could be, if I got a ziplock bag and put him in my pocket! She thought that was in really bad taste... I now have to think about what I say to her... But then again I was the one in late 2001 telling people that I had reservations for Windows on the World in November and I was excited about eating there. When they would express shock, I would act ignorant to the whole WTC terrorist thing... (I was also one of the guys busting my ass volunteering after the attack, so I guess I'm not a complete bastard!)

JTF,
We love you and you certainly have earned the right for a faux pas or two -I am sensitive bout this stuff-I am aware there are websites that are dedicated to the whole notion of the ghoul pool thing---and people are betting on my husband-i didn't mean to jump on you---i just believe that stuff is some serious bad taste... b.b
