Slapshot99,
Keep fighting.....because as you'll soon learn from Richard and Jennifer, a positive attitude is a good thing to have! ;)

astonamous,
I think that they are using more categories today, but for many many years they had relapsing remitting and progressive. Because the majority of patients fell into the category of RR you never really heard much about progressive MS. My neuro also told me that it is best not to label when dealing with insurance, otherwise the patient may not be able to obtain certain drugs or therapies if they wish to try them.

Visitor,

No, MS isn't all the same. There are people who can have RRMS all their lives and you wouldn't know it. My aunt just turned 84 and is finally having great difficulty with her MS and just now needing a cane. She was diagnosed 54 years ago.

I was diagnosed 7 years ago and need a walker or power wheelchair. I have primary progressive where she has RRMS, which I assume has now become secondary. There needs to be a lot more research into the different types of MS, especially the progressive types so we know how to treat them and how to diagnose quicker to get people the help they need.

Visitor,

Don't you think that when you get to a certain stage of the disease, that it is just MS without all the fancy labels?

Oops,
I meant for this to go in the MS thread.

Forgive me as this is my first visit here.

We saw the Insider interview today. My wife was diagnosed this past March. RRMS. Richard's condition scared the shit out of my wife. She fears that is her future. Is his ms primary progressive or secondary progressive?

What an awesome talent he has shared with us. I particularly enjoy Richard and Wilder together.

My hat is off to you as well, Jennifer.
