Jennifer,

AND SHE FINE TOO!!!!

Seriously, it's great to see someone so talented and beautiful be committed toward helping others. She doesnt' come across as a ego-maniac either. What a woman! Her aesthetic beauty is nothing compared to the beauty of her heart....

Vee,
I love Alicia...serious talent...actually a muscian...and a poet as well as a songwriter...she is also a pretty cool humanitarian---giving and caring and doing much more than I see JLo---doing! I love her!

Visitor,

Okay, lets see. This is to the Visitor who made the comparison between Stevie Wonder/Patti Labelle/Natalie Cole/Teena Marie and Robert DeNiro/Laurence Fishburne/Pauly Shore/Mickey Dolenz. Are you equating Cole and Marie with Pauly Shore and Mickey Dolenz? They're not comparable at all. Both Natalie Cole and Teena Marie are exceptional talents.

Visitor,

What the hell ya hatin' on Alicia for? Diva is "real cool". She is an original sound when it comes to whats going today. Plus, she's one of the only female writers out there that represent influences from Stevie, Teena, Natalie ...Yatta!Yatta!Yatta!

Don't hate her because she ain't singing the song you heard in 1973. She feelin' though...LOLOLOL!

Nigga What?????? Nigga Who???

Visitor,

Stevie Wonder/Pattie Labelle/Natalie Cole/Teena Marie?

What the heck is that? Yeah, like REAL acting would be Robert DeNiro/Laurence Fishburne/Pauly Shore/Mickey Dolenz!

8-o

JTF,

Of course, the same can be said for every rapper out there. I'm not dissing any music. But real singing, I'm talking a la Stevie Wonder/Pattie Labelle/Natalie Cole/Teena Marie, is light years ahead of anything on the market today. That's why Prince made the most money touring last year. He's a true musician who believes in playing music. His latest cd, though, leaves much to be desired. I like a lot of hip hop, but much of it has ushered in a pimp culture that's diametrically opposed to musicianship. As a classical trained pianist, there's no doubt that Keys is good. But true art isn't as marketable nowadays..

brandes,

by "artificial" I meant the overall, overproduced sound that most music has today... and her music is no different. Her version of [/i]How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore[/i] is a perfect example. If you get rid of the awful sounding drum machine it wouldn't sound bad...

JTF,
I disagree with your comment that she has an artificial sound now. I think she is one of the most talented and origional sounds out there. I mean, look at Ashanti or Britney Spears.
