It weird and it's wrong...man has long been guilty of trying to change GOD's laws to fit his needs .....this is the prime example.....I agree with [/i]visitor[/i] Even the pope,however religous, however scholarly,however long he spent praying for others. He didn't stand up for those molested and he didn't support women being ordained...so that's more I don't like...and it's weird to idolize the pope this way...it's been on all weekend...just shows us how a leader is craved, needed ,wanted...damn.!

the man may have done alot of good for some people, but he was pope since I was in high school, what did they do about all those priests that were molestin little boys ? Other than shufled them around to another part of the country,and not warn the new commnuity.He was just a man ,like any other man , and I put no man, before GOD .

Man's inhumanity to man is an old story. We are suppose to learn from our historical mistakes, and yet here we(Americans) are allowing the same type of fascist control to undermine the very principles we are supposedly saving the rest of the world from. We are sending our less advantaged youth off to fight for freedoms we take for granted here, while we are slowly losing those freedoms. Instead of dictating to our leaders, we are allowing them to dictate to us the desires of a minority, conservative faction. We allow our government representatives to be bought. And we allow them to control the information that we receive.

The Pope did what he could to champion the rights of the poor and to right previous transgretions. He also followed his beliefs without waivering. As a person, we should mourn the loss of that example. No more, no less.

There is a lot about the catholic church that sucks...and the vatican did give tacit approval of Hitlers genocide...The Pope did go to Israel and try to make ammends ----very little...too late...but an attempt, nevertheless.
I think if you want to look at looted art around the world, especially what was taken out of Germany and from jews during the war, check out the Getty museum, check out every major museum and art dealer in the world...hell, check out the museums in Amsterdam!
