but Cleo told you the same thing she told me when I was doing her. what a trip! @.@ you'd think they'd be original so we couldn't compare notes huh.

but I wonder what she is gonna say during our 3some this weekend. ;p lawd, I hope she keeps our names right. talk about a mood killer.

bcddjjsc690,

wow you've got some goodies. and have you noticed nothing comparable today huh? that should tell right there, they're timeless treasures. and big band/swing is still jamming. pretty cool how in Harlem some stores and restaurants only play Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Billie Holiday and other big band artists.

one of my friend's mom actually saw Billie live at a club in Harlem, and has a photo w/her. you know those clubs back then were like being in someone's house, so the performances must have been memorable.

tamra,
I have an original copy of Sgt. Pepper complete with the stickers and album sleeve in mint condition ....
I also have about 300 other albums from the 60 's 70 ' 80 's.I love my vinyl ..
I can remember having Beatles Colorforms ....
Although I was mostly listening to Motown then, A radio was always on in our house {AM}...at least till Dad came home .My parents gave me my love for music , My father had 100's of records,He loved the Big Band era, He knew the Mills Brothers ,and I still remember the night he took my Mom to see Count Basie, I was in 3rd grade , and Mom came home with a dollar bill signed by the Count Himself..

bcddjjsc690,

yeah definitely case closed w/The Raspberries

I still have a Stylistics "You Make Me Feel Brand New" 45 along w/a few other classics from the 50's that I kept from my mom's collection all the way to early 80's on 45.

I used to wear out my Juice Newton 45 "The Sweetest Thing", but 45 still looks as good as new. I wonder what happened to her?

had to replace the Dells & Platters w/CDs.

what's weird is I have no Beatles or Paul McCartney. I have just about everyone, including rare Leonard Cohen stuff. I guess because everyone else had Beatles collections which were always being played or something was always on the radio, never bought anything by them.
