Mister Gee,

No, that's not it. The one I'm referring to is the track being played literally as they walk in the door, before the main performance, the dance contest and all that. Very brassy, quite fast-paced. I'll see if I can get a short clip of it, so you know what I'm after.

Wasn't it called "Satin Doll" by Duke Ellington? I'm sure that TMIC references it on "Live on the Sunset Strip"

Hi, nice site here.

I'm trying to identify a piece of music performed in the first episode of the Show. In the Satin Doll sketch, just as Pryor and his companion enter the hall, the band are playing a piece of jazz/swing music. Does anyone know what this piece is called, and who composed it? If anyone could help me out here, I'd really appreciate it.
