deepseas,

I was never a fan of dog races (mostly for the reason of how the dogs are discarded when they're done with them) but horse racing I thing is exciting and beautiful (so long as the horses are taken care of.) Just look at the horses when they are ready to run... you can't say they don't want to run!

Horses get hurt in races, sure. But they get hurt in everyday life too. I can't say that horse racing is any different from horseback riding or strapping a carriage to them and letting them drag us around a park.

Given the choice between riding a horse and driving a car, I would take the horse any day. They're beautiful creatures!

It's not looking good for Barbaro... :(

I had an idea. Can't we find some way to save the horse, and kill a NASCAR "athlete" instead?
