Mailmen or chicken restaurant cooks….. Hmmm. If you are trying to be a stand up comic you’re off to a good start because you spell real funny.
Now back to the question, are these “Mailmen against Chicken Restaurant Cooks?”
Or are these “Mailmen against Frightened Restaurant Cooks?”
There is a difference you know.
We have Postal cookouts all the time and we know that a brave restaurant cook is much better than frightened restaurant chicken cook.
So in my completely unbiased opinion, I would have to state that I positively, have no idea!

I think that British humour based travels fairly well, although I think that sometimes certain subtleties may be lost; but I think the humour in shows like the office and characters like Ali G is somewhat universal, and that the tones of shows like The Young Ones or Blackadder can be understood and appreciated by those from shore to shore.

I must admit, im pleasantly surprised to hear you say that. The British press likes to hint that american has 'ruined our shows' the recent remake of 'The Office' being a major culprit.

Theres always this perception that the british enjoy american comedy, but it dosent work the other way. If anyone does like the US version of The Office, you really ought to try and catch some of the english episodes, Ricky Gervais is an excellent comedian, and his style whilst not as downright in your face as Rich, is still very upfront and controversial, some of his comments are so near the bone, yet you cant help but laugh thinking "jesus, he's got a point!!"

Oh lord, I LOVE British humour. And I must spell it with the "u." I'm not sure if I'm in love with the accents from around the UK or not, but it sure doesn't hurt.

It doesn't travel well for the American masses, because it's more of a cerebral comedy. More irony and sarcasm. We Americans love fart jokes and prat falls and can take them non stop for years and years. The majority. The ones who make up the majority of the Nielson Ratings...

This is not saying that British audiences are smarter, because being human, we've got retards in our culture and societies. The English just hide them better.

Last night, I watched a French and Saunders DVD. Oh my how that made me laugh. I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Even if it was from '95...if y'all get a chance, check them out. Worth it, definitely. Shoot...I'd trade in American comedy for British any day of the week...I think.

We fucked up and killed "Men Behaving Badly" too. We should leave the Britcoms alone.
