Question for Jennifer or Richard!

When i watch Richard im so extremly impressed with his skills. How did he get to such a high level.But it also seems like he did a lot of drugs and had a "fuck it" attitude against many things. My question is how was he when it came to stand-up? Did he work hard with it? He's material? He's characters? Or was he just so talented that he didnt have to work with it and gave a little "fuck it" to stand up to.? Beacuse when i see live in concert everything is perfect and im just so cuerious about how Richard worked when he prepared for his shows. Like if he really dedicated himself?
