What is the stupidest thing you have ever done?

It was hard to pick the "stupidest" but up there in the top few I'd have to say visiting a friend who ran a comedy club in Charlotte, NC to celebrate his engament to a female comedian 10 years his senior and taking (as a little gifty) some mind altering chemical substances. Doing said substances, walking the Fit trek at his apartment complex at 1 am, "altered," (then finding out there had been several rapes and a murder there in the last couple of weeks)

Then when the fiancee surprised him by coming in shortly after (and her being for some reason quite po'd) deciding to leave and go home a little early which led to driving around downtown Charlotte, lost, wearing a (as I was informed later)see thru gauze dress and Birks, driving a Saab with the car running on fumes and with no bill smaller than a $50... and nothing open except automated station that too nothing larger than a $20.

Which led to stopping a policman and asking him (altered, remember?) for directions to a service station where there were actual people who would take the $50... they led me to the station, pumped the gas and made the clerk take the bill... probably connected to the gauze dress...

Does this count as one or multiple stupidests?

oh, the driving around downtown thing was at 3 am-ish...

and Charlotte was like #1 in rapes and murder about then...

Oh, so many.

Here's one:
I saw one of those giant foam cowboy hats in a novelty/magic store, but couldn't decide which color I wanted. Orange or blue? So I must have gone in there once a week for about three weeks, bugging the store owner and trying to decide. I finally paid $20 for the blue one. I was 23 years old.

Ok I had to really think on this one. This is actually kind of mean. I have a friend that helps me work on my screenplays once in a while and he is deathly afraid of all horror flicks. When we go to the movies he always picks the flick. Well when they Rereleased The ChainSaw movie (which I didn't like) I took him and he didn't know what it was about and so I kind of changed the story around so he would go with me. Through the whole movie he was jumpin on me and screamin and I started to actually feel bad cause I was like damn this cat is really scared. Then we had to walk home in the dark and every little noise scared him and he yelled at me all the way home. He actually didn't talk to me for 2 months after that. We are cool again now but, he still doesn't think it's too funny to talk about. Needless to say I'm not allowed to pick out our movies anymore.

Do you think you both could adjust/change your pictures? They are both very nice but tclodes' is so busy it makes it very hard to read the post and gypsy's is so wide it screws up my screen making the page look awful. Between the two of you, this thread took me 3 days to read!

I've done so many stupid things in my life that it is hard to choose a stupidist one.

I supppose it would be when I turned 16, got my drivers license on Wednsday, Insurance on Thursday, talked my Mother into letting me use her brand new car with less than 500 miles on it on Friday to go to the High School basketball game and getting falling down drunk and totalling the car on the way home.
Insurance was canceled on Saturday and License was suspended on Monday.
Back to the bicycle for transportation for 6 months.
Yep, that was the dumbest thing I have ever done.
