here's an idea
Hey everyone! My dad and I were talking about the war in Iraq. We came up with a solution to the decreasing number of volunteer armed service men and women willing to put their lives in harms way. Well instead of sinking taxpayer money into building and sustaining more and more prisons. Let's give non-violent offenders the option of joining the military and fighting this so-called war on terror as a way out of incarceration. So after they have done their duty in the military when they come home they'll have a second or third chance at life. It costs roughly 30,000 dollars for one inmate a year. Whereas I dont even get paid that much and I have two small children to feed. Does anyone have any comment? Please reply with your ideas and maybe a better way to handle things. By the way, Happy New Year and peace and love to all.

Hahahahah...yeah, its the violent ones we need. Give Charlie Manson an AK-47 and set him loose in the Middle East. Or drop Scot Peterson behind enemy lines.
Hey wasn't there an old World War 2 movie with a similar plot? Sounds familiar. Anyway, I don't have a problem with it. But the ACLU may not be too fond of the idea. On the other hand, this is a great idea for a comedy bit...

I'm sorry to all. I got excited and I just wanted to get the idea somewhere. I respect all views, the reason I do not want the offenders to be violent is because of the threat they pose to the otheer inmates. It should be an option to the inmate is because one may not have the mental ability to handle being in the "war zone". Perhaps coming home from war only to be worse off than when he or she commited the crime. No doubt Bush is a bumbling idiot but millions of other idiots voted him into office again. Thus sticking the american people with a pigheaded, prick. I was on the verge of tears when the election was over. The man can't even form a cohesive sentence. Thank you for allowing me to express my opinion.
