The Next Big Thing In Comedy?

There are thousands of stand up comics touring every year. Most of whom do so in obscurity. But who do you think will break free from the pack and claim 2005 as his or her own? Please exclude Chappelle, Jon Stewart, Stanhope and other comedians with immediate name recognition. Who should we be looking out for?

I'm predicting a break out year for a obscure sacramento comic named Shane Murphy..I'm predicting him some day making enough to pay off his bar tab at at least one show

Trudy, you are the type of fan that comedians love. Continue to bug the sh*t out of them until they do the right thing. I always thought it odd that any club would exclude female comedians, particularly when every comic knows the way to win a crowd quick is to play to the skirts. The next step for the club should be to book more women. But no, that's too logical. Pj Walsh, you say?

Shane Murphy of Sacramento. Hmmmm. I'll add another to the list -- Jen Kober. Funny lady!

PJ Walsh is very funny high energy and physical. Got my ass kicked by him in the 2002 Rocky Mountain Comedy Fest.

Jen Kolber is very funny also. Very high energy and she can sing too. SHe kicked my ass inthe Seattle Contest this year.

COOL. Oh and Trudy, I'm surprised your local comedy club doesn't already have a ladies night. Most clubs will have a Divas in Comedy, Brassy Broads or Chicks with Jokes showcase show. If your club doesn't, suggest it.

...as for shawn... I don't know if he'll be breaking out anytime this year, but I have told of one of his jokes a few times since I heard his mp3. The joke with the punchline "it just proves that retards like shiny objects..." That one. And it's gotten some pretty good laughs everytime. I've been meaning to tell him that even though this is slightly off topic.

the comic yall need to watch out for is victor guyton of miami fl. this nigga is the shit! when he comes out its something to behold when he gets his "big break" the world will be glad!when he was a rookie b.e.t. recognized this nigga as special cause they show him as a "seasoned headliner" nand put him before cats that was in the game for years! yall keep your eyes and ears open for victor guyton from miami fl! that nigga is funny!
