Senators who refused to sign anti lynching resolution

Politics, religion, racism, sex, the weather... there's always lots to think about so there's always lots to talk about. Progressive ideas are encouraged but all opinions are welcome.

bingolong,
The fourth guy Baseball Hall of Famer Jim Bunning. He makes me sick, he's quick to talk about Jackie Robinson and progress that Robinson is responsible for.
But his voting record says he probably feels different... just another example.
Now that Johnnie's gone, I guess I should start being nice to the cops.

astonamous,
I've been watching interviews with the only known man alive to survive a lynching. He said what was the most disturbing thing to him was realizing the people trying to kill him were people that he: worked for, said hi to, received compliments from. These were people he knew, can you imagine the horror in that.
My home state is horrible for lynchings, Indiana. The most famous picture of a lynching (Public Enemy put it on a album cover) took place in Marion, Indiana. That is the lynching that man escaped from.
Frederick Douglass escaped a lynching once, while he was visiting Indiana for a speech. I've been to the tree they hung him from, the feeling that you get knowing that many lives were lost there was amazing.
My family is from Yazoo City, Mississippi. That is the city where the plantation my family was on is at. My first visit their my family made a point of pointing out the tree that was used to kill my family members and others. Then they took me to the area where they buried those slaves. To see the bottom of trees in this "grave site" with the names of the slave buried beside it and some have the way they died.
"HANGED" simple yet says so much.
One, this bill it too late in coming.
Two, to not sign it is another slap in the face.
Now that Johnnie's gone, I guess I should start being nice to the cops.

robfharris,
Any Senator that didn't sign this bill personally disgusts me,but Bunning is a big suprise, like you said Major League Hall of Famer....
The states they represent seem to form a pattern ,but what's up with both Senators from New Hampshire?? And didn't Sununu work in Clinton's White House??
Do they actually think they stand the chance of loosing voters because of voting on this bill ?? Is there some pork or additions to the bill they could be protesting against??
It's really puzzling....8-o

Murphdogg,
Hate to take this to basketball... but you guys have more than your fair share of state titles and you had the pleasure of seeing Jay Edwards and Lyndon Jones spot up from the hash marks to make threes.
Of course Lyndon never panned out and Jay was kicked out of the NBA for coke... so maybe those two guys were cursed.
Now that Johnnie's gone, I guess I should start being nice to the cops.

robfharris,
I seen where they were trying to convict an 80 year old for a murder of three men back about over 40 years ago....they sed he was in the KKK....they convicted a few others then...at the time an they never served over six years any of them for that....they never got him but they might now I hope....I am sure a lot of people got away with killings like that back then....I hope they now find them an convict them...it must be hard to live your life after doing something like that....I guess they have no heart

Appaloosa,

News just in, Strom Thurmond has resurrected from the dead to ensure his name is placed on the list...
