I am so sorry you were mistreated like that. Nothing pisses me off more than people who run clubs or rooms and treat comics like dirt. They know how fucking hard this is to do but they don't make it any easier for us. The reason I have my open mike room is because I was sick of people telling me when I would get stage time. They would actually tell me to come down next week because they couldn't get me on after we drove for an hour and had a babysitter arranged then I would come back a week later and they would tell me to come back in 3 weeks. How the hell do you get good when you can't get on stage? That is why guys love my room becuase I let everyone who shows up on (we don't have features anymore just open mikers) and I introduce and treat every with respect. Just like the Bible says to do, "I treat others how I would like to be treated" I have seen other rooms and mcs bring comics up and sign their death certificate before the comic even grabs the mike. I hate that and then to cut someone off in mid stream that's just plain wrong. But it sounds to me like Robbie who is a legend knows the real deal and you are lucky that all the people on the forum are behind you. Keep on keeping on, you will get there one day and those same people will say, "Shit maybe we shouldn't have been so mean to him."
Also just a suggestion is it possible to do rooms outside of LA?

I'm not worried that place wont even be around this time next year.

Asfar as local gigs go theres no venues with a shit. I use to do cafe's but the young people around here have no class or respect doing stand up for the locals is more like babysitting.
