Gareth,

Yeah we knew what he meant, but just for the sake of mentioning...color ,no matter what, will always be a sensitive issue. However, I think comedy can always override that rule. People love to laugh especially over everyday things....things that we can relate to. All is forgiven in love and laugh-ter!

Vee,
Hey Vee. Race is always an Issue. if you have a chance one of my mentors Mr. Paul Mooney has an comedy CD called Race. If it is still availible, this CD takles the race issue with brilliant insight and humor. From the original angry black man. Or as Redd Foxx once said. Dammit everybody is green...no lite greens to the front dark greens to the back....Vee you included ]:o)
Robbie Peron making audiences laugh since 1986...Beer making ugly people look attractive since 1786.

Vee,

You're right color is a very sensitive issue that has caused more division than unity. Thank God for Mr. P. and his love for all. He sets such an excellent example. When he fell in love with Jenny Lee, his heart saw no color only LOVE even though it meant being criticized and labeled a "sell Out" by his own people. I so respect his BRAVERY.

I pray I'm able to be so BRAVE if I'm ever faced with such a decision. My father is EXACTLY like the full-blooded Italian father portrayed in Spike Lee's 1990 film "Jungle Fever" He would beat my ass, get put in jail and then beat my ass AGAIN as soon as he got out 8-O

Robbie,

I'll look into the Paul Mooney CD and Redd Foxx. I do know that Paul Mooney is HArdcore when it comes to the race battle. But, he's funny. Actually, I'm pretty sure that I can get my hands on that one. I'll let you know what I think when I get it....

Vee,

No I haven't had a chance to read either one of their books yet but I can't wait to. I feel like I've gotten to know so much more about them just by logging on here everyday.
I did pick up "And It's Deep Too" as a X-mas present to myself this past year:lol: so I had a chance to read an excerpt from Jenny's book "Tarnished Angel" that's printed in the book that's included with the CD boxed set.

That book is AWESOME Vee!! Have you seen it yet? It has all kinds of quotes made by Mr. Pryor along with several quotes made about him by various comedians including Whoopi Goldberg, Chris Rock, Robin Williams etc. VERY cool shitB-)
Most defintely worth the extra tip money I make during the X-mas Season:lol:

Robbie,
Race is a good cd-Mooney is a good friend-but come-on man-we all love Paul even though he is a racist and can send white folks running to the hills-I've seen him empty rooms!! Hell, he's forgiven me for being white despite it!
Race is one of the most compelling and powerful topics in America -since slavery was a birth defect of this nation-we must always deal with it! But deal with it we must and not hide behind racism and pretend that's dealing with it!!Love to all on this site-jennifer

SweetLuchia,
I only became aware of how racists black folks could be when I got with Richard-his family-his grandmother in particular was old and old school and absolutely hated me for being white-and if you read Tarnished Angel-there are stories in there about it! I had a real education and a major wake-up call-meanwhile, my father adored RIchard as did the rest of my family, cause he was a funny motherfucker and loved me! :p
