Jennifer,

Oh I definitely agree that michael is a victimizer. It's been sad and pathetic to watch him turn into whatever the hell he is now. He's obviously used his status and money to shelter himself. (I wonder what's going to happen to HIS kids?)

But you don't think that people are more apt to sue a celebrity or someone with money? Not in this case necessarily, but say joe schmo was in a fender bender with a big time, rich celebrity. Do you thing Joe's more likely to take legal action since the option of a big payoff is possible?

sahnja,
Maybe over a fender bender or a paparazi thing-but not like this issue;molestation: it's too huge and horrible to deal with-the price to pay for the money is too big!

Jennifer,

I totally agree with you. If children are claiming sexual abuse at the hands of MJ it's not so they can sue him for money-it's b/c they are truly fucked up over what he did to them.

If anything, I think that the boys parents who settled with MJ out of court a few years back for an undisclosed amount of money did innocent children everywhere a major dis-service b/c they allowed him to get off scott free ]:o(

sahnja,

It's not the same thing! Fuckiing with a kid and a fenderbender?...I don't think so. You can't compare the two. You don't have an argument here.............

Jennifer,

I honestly don't think that Michael even realizes what kind of trouble he's in. He can't use the excuse of not having a childhood anymore....I mean the nigga knew enough to fire his father as his manager waaayyyy before Janet did! What the fuck...?

Whew, I'm feeling the anger ... but I never meant to imply I didn't think Michael deserved whatever he gets. I think it was Trudy who said the first family who brought these allegations out did a disfavor by settling. The only thing that might be sicker than abusing the helpless is to stand by and let it happen. JTF's post was more in line with what I was trying to get across. I wonder what type of man he would be if he hadn't had the fame. Was this already a part of him or did he become this? And what's going to happen to his kids?

Vee,

I wasn't comparing child molestation to a fender-bender. Just asking Jennifer, since she has experience with celebrities, if the rich and famous are sued more for trivial type things.

Has anyone else had the same thought pop into their head? It hit me that even knowing what a sick fuck Mike is, if "Lady In My Life," or any other song I like of his is played I still listen and think nothing of it! It's not like I hear "Rock With You" and think "That disgusting fuck!" I know what he is and he should pay, but it still doesn't change the way I feel about the good music he's put out. Lately though... phew!

Funny how most people seem to feel the way I do (from what I can tell) but if O.J. comes on a football highlight reel a whole lotta white people get all pissed off... (I personally thought it was unlikely that he did it, but if he did it's in God's hands.)

JTF, I agree with you totally--I hate to say it, but I think R.Kelly has gotten a billion times better since his recent 'controversy'...can anybody deny the Ignition Remix?
Like Tupac said "only God can judge me", so let's dance to the tunes of shifty celeb music characters to our hearts' content.

NickFlanagan,

I know relatively nothing about recent music. Mu collection is mostly 60's, 70's & 80's with a few early 90's. I have so damn much good music that I really don't need any of this new shit. I just keep buying old records that I like and sometimes unreleased shit comes out (I love the current Roy Ayers "Virgin Ubiquity" collection!)

JTF, I know what you mean, I prefer music of the past to that of nowadays, especially with R&B and soul, but sometimes new stuff impresses me--and I'm telling you, 'Ignition Remix' is crazy!
