Jennifer,

Mr. P.'s Grandma didn't like you? 8-O Wow man I respect Mr. P. even MORE now knowing that!!! It's ashame anyone can be racist and it's extremely SAD if it's a family member.

I haven't lived under the same roof as my father since I was a kid but he's got so much HATE in him, I wouldn't put it past him to at least try and beat my ass if I fell in love with a black man. Hopefully love will give me strength to follow my heart like Mr. P. did cause TRUE LOVE only comes along once in a lifetime ):)

You know Jenny I bet years from now when you meet Mr. P's Grandma in Heaven, she'll have nothing but love for you. Not just b/c she's in Heaven but b/c she'll have seen how well you've taken care of Mr. P. all these years--without complaint only genuine compassion and RESPECT :-x How could she NOT love you for that? Who knows maybe, just maybe, she'll even admit Mr. P. made the right decision when he chose you ;)

SweetLuchia,

"And It's Deep Too"? No, I haven't read that one. I have to make my way over to the store...it sounds hysterical.

LOL Trudy I'm not trying to earn points just speaking the truth in the "Spirit of Richard" but I so appreciate your KIND compliment :-x
I absolutely LOVE expressing myself with words, I WISH I could get a job doing it. I'd love to write greeting cards or meaningful quotes to put on bookmarkers or calendars but I think you need a college degree for that type of thing.

Thanks again for the compliment you and Vee have me flyin high tonight ):) :-x

SweetLuchia,
Yeah- maybe the old bitch will be happy to see me in heaven, that's a nice thought but I doubt it! LOL-I mean she REALLY didn't like me! But ya know what, I understand it-she grew up in a cruel white world, ran a whorehouse and was a tough cookie-she couldn't adapt to anything else-I get it-it fucked with RIchard how racist she was, more than it fucked with me in the end. She liked Pam Grier, wanted Richard to marry her! Mama used to call me a "big foot motherfucker"-she didn't like the sound of my feet on the hard wood floors when she was visiting us! Aaaaaah, the memories! ;)

SweetLuchia,

Girl you don't need a college degree for true art. Kinco's is open 24-7....start your bookmarks and calendars there. You have an audience right here.....Get what I'm saying??????

I don't know what I was thinking - I do own "It's Deep Too"! I just always called it "The Richard Pryor Boxset"!!!! Oopppps....My bad

Here is the sad thing about racism. It either comes through conditioning or experience but never anything substantial for someone to hate another except for color!!
I was at family reunion in Chicago about 8 years ago and everybody was wearing those African dyshikis as a sign of heritage. But my grandfather (who like Richard was a major comedic influence in my life and was self admittedly the "darkest man room") didn't want my family to forget that we also came from a mixed heritage and acknowledged that a white man loved and cherished his grandmother during the post-slavery era.
My point is there will always be those that are ignorant and won't even realize it while others will have the insight to know the the truth ,acknowledge it and try to make us aware of it. That is were people like Richard and my grandfather come in!
I went to Zimbabwe. I know how white people feel in America now; relaxed! Cause when I heard the police car I knew they weren't coming after me!
