Murphdogg,
yeah I believe that the country n western singers now are doing a version of country rock....sorta like the Eagles did a few decades ago....but certainly not as quite as hip......I used to like country for what it was back then.....Loretta Lynn, Twitty, of course Dolly Parton.....too many to name....but that was back when country was country

astonamous,
easy cowgirl I'd never make fun of C&W... Johnny Cash "live at san quentin" was my first album...my sons named Luke the drifter after Hank Williams and his son drank some turkey with us once...my dogs full name is David Allen Coe and yep he's crazy...Willie and Waylon were no shows so they swapped my tickets for Earl Thomas Conely...I'm still a bit pissed about that one...I've seen Haggard and Guy Clark both once and Jerry Jeff Walker at least a dozen times and that doesn't count the times there was two of him...jail food aint that bad and I wanna be Billy Joe Shavers when I grow up..."If that aint country, I'll kiss your ass"

;p
I would really like to see this movie but...and this sounds stupid I know...I would hate to see June Cash portrayed in anything but a respectful manner.
And Roy Clark from Hee Haw is the most underrated guitar player ever.

Appaloosa,
I'm not sure you can call the crap they make these days C&W...the older bands were just that, bands...musicians living on the road and partying their asses off and you never knew what you was going to hear or see...and seeing those guys was some of the most fun I ever had in my life...we used to call our concert tickets "go to jail cards"...
bingolong,
Nashville rocks....I was totally understanding r/t what your friends might say about you seeing this over that...I remember our long haired asses standing in line for Sgt. Peppers with the teeny boppers who wanted to see Frampton and the disco queens there for the Bee Gees, all for a minutes worth of Joe Perry and a little Alice Cooper...one time we got so stoned before going to a Nazareth concert we went to the wrong place and stood in line for a horse show...we was looking at them they was looking at us...
