OK -, now that I said THANK YOU to everyone ( I hope I forgot no one, if I did, I apologize, gots much love for you all!)

Anyway, I just did ALL of those post to say THANK YOU and to catch up on all the posts I have been missing out on!!!

But seriously, this post means the world to me, it really does.

So, I know since Steve posted this, our post friends here are wondering "What the Hell is the matter with Big T?"

Sooooo, I am going to tell you! I perforated my ear drum and developed a very BAD infection in the ear. The infection spread everywhere - ears, nose, throat. I could not speak and was in considerable pain and very weak. So, I had this minor laser surgery scheduled to repair the eardrum, but I had to be hospitalized due to all the other complications that I had. They had to wait to get the infection under control, before they could do the surgery.

Now, the surgery is done, the infection is gone but I still have no voice, and I am weak as a tiny kitten.....BUT! I can type!

& Bcdd is right! I did ask the nurse if I could hook my son's lap top up and go on line. That broad looked at me like I was crazy! I was in the hospital for 4 days! I was going crazy up in there!

All the while, I was very worried about my cats and if they were being taken care of. My son, he was SCARED! He never seen his Momma so sick in his life. Steve, he was beside himself - but he held up like a champion. That is why I love him so.

I do not know how I punctured my eardum - might have been sticking pencils in it while doing all of those damn tax returns, I dunno - but it happened. I had been complaing about this ear for over a month - then the pain flared up - & I have to tell you, I do not wish that pain on my WORST enemy. Next to having a baby, it was the worst pain that I ever had in my whole life.

Anyway, I am glad the worst is over and I am now on the road to recovery. I THANK GOD FOR THAT------------> & I thank my son, who is on his very best behaviour and running all over LA to get things for me. & I thank Steve - for being the very best guy in all the world - giving me all of this LOVE and SUPPORT , helping me get better. & THANK YOU To my darling babies (My Cats - Pootie & Angel) for sleeping in the bed with me like they are protecting me and making me feel good. Their purrs make me go to sleep.

& Again, a great big THANKS to all of you who showed your girl some love in this thread! I really appreciated it and it truly lifted my spirits!

& from now on, I am going to be very careful with my ear

Glad your back and getting better, infections suck. I was getting worried since you hadn't responded. Good to see your back and raising hell...man I couldn't imagine what being your nurse was like.

by the way, ruptures can also occur from a build up of pressure in the oral and nasal cavities, all sorts of things can cause pressure like sneezing, coughing or anything which might have caused a pistoning action in your oral cavity thus building up pressure until it just couldn't hold back any longer and blew out the nearest membrane. If anything comes to mind you should probably tell your doctor. Dr. Red Duke ;p

EXCELLENT ADVICE!

I was told the SAME info by two other doctors, too - my doc & my Mom.

I do not know how that shit happened, I just never want it to happen again!

Thank you and I am sorry I worried you by not replying!
I was trying to get out of that damn hospital!

& I was on my best behaviour at the hospital! I did not do anything wrong to the nurses! I have mad love & respect for care-givers. They are very special people indeed. I had this one nurse, Nurse Sanderson, she was very nice! She was very sympathetic to all of the pain I was in, said she knew what I was going through, she had experienced it herself at one time. She did everything she could to bring me some comfort. I really appreciated that woman. Somebody ought to give her a medal. When I am well enough, I am going to drive over there and tell her thank you and I will never forget her kindness.
