The MSPCA, with help from local animal lovers and comedian Richard Pryor and his wife Jennifer Lee, announced today that it is offering the reward after the corpse of a dog was found in the woods The dog had been beaten, and its throat had been slit.
The dog's death followed another incident in Nahant, Mass., where the corpse of a golden retriever was found on Long Beach on Sept. 21. The dog was found wrapped tightly in burlap with its mouth and feet bound with rope. The reward offered in this case is $20,000.
"We need the public's help. We hope that these rewards induce someone to come forward with the information we need to secure a conviction," MSPCA Director of Law Enforcement Peter Gollub said. "Although the outpouring of public support has been sustained and remarkable, the MSPCA has not yet received contributions sufficient to cover the two rewards announced. Nonetheless, the MSPCA will demonstrate its commitment to the solution of these cases by advancing the necessary reward funding."

Jennifer,
A lot of contributions are pouring in, which is how the first fund has reach $20,000.
The second fund is starting at $10,000-
The MSPCA is great as they kicked in most of that...and the many, outraged ANIMAL LOVERS will make it grow!

Jennifer,
A new press release was issued....
MSPCA Announces $10,000 Reward for Information about Pepperell Dog Death, and Increases the Reward for Information about Nahant Dog Death to $20,000.
The MSPCA, with help from local animal lovers and comedian Richard Pryor and his wife Jennifer Lee, announces today that it is offering a $10,000 reward for material information leading to an animal cruelty conviction relating to the recent death of a golden retriever dog in Pepperell.
The corpse of Wynner, the beloved pet of Betty and Steve Forster of Pepperell, was discovered on October 9th in the woods near the family home. The dog had been beaten and its throat had been slit. Wynner had been missing for three weeks before his corpse was found.
Wynner’s death followed another gruesome incident in Nahant. The corpse of a golden retriever was found on Long Beach on September 21st. The dog was found wrapped tightly in burlap, with its mouth and feet bound with rope. The reward offered in this case is $20,000.
According to MSPCA Director of Law Enforcement Peter Gollub, both investigations are ongoing.
“We need the public’s help. We hope that these rewards induce someone to come forward with the
information we need to secure a conviction.” Director Gollub added, “although the outpouring of public support has been sustained and remarkable, the MSPCA has not yet received contributions sufficient to cover the two rewards announced. Nonetheless, the MSPCA will demonstrate its commitment to the solution of these cases by advancing the necessary reward funding.”
“I’m heartened by the generosity and dedication of the MSPCA and so many caring individuals who
have come forward to offer their support,” said Betty Forster. “It is our hope that someone will now come forward and give the MPSCA and Pepperell Police Department the information they need to solve this case.”
Anyone with information about the Nahant case should call the MSPCA LAW ENFORCEMENT DEPARTMENT at (617)522-6008 or (800)628-5808. Anyone with information about the Pepperell case should call the PEPPERELL POLICE DEPARTMENT at (978) 433-2424, or the MSPCA LAW ENFORCEMENT DEPARTMENT.
Anyone wishing to donate to the “Golden Justice Fund” may send contributions to: MSPCA, Attn: Law Enforcement Department, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA, 02130, made payable to “MSPCA”. Any contributions not used for present or future rewards will be used for the benefit of abused and neglected animals, or for other law enforcement purposes.
