smjmcomic,
No shit Kiddo.....the LAST thing anyone should do is to Marry someone that needs saving...Instead, try getting her some help from an outside source...There are alot of people out there that really DO give a shit about others......Dealing with the VA...I see 100's of them all the time...Don't let your emotions make decisions for you.

mkohn,Wow, that is rightous. You put it in such plain words and you werent even thinking of marriage. Putting 2 people together for 6 months is a task in itself.I have been there in that situation, and I wasn't as bad as her, I'm sure I had my days. He helped me by bringing things to my attention. I hope it is the reason I am happy for 13 years today. But marriage is a two way deal. No more 50/50. it should be 100/100. Good luck smjm.

:-x

mkohn,

I agree with Jennifer. Good advice. But you know as well as I do, when someone thinks they know what they're doing in a situation like this there is no telling them anything.

With your situation in 2000 I hope you didn't complicate manners by having relations with your lovely houseguest...

smjmcomic,

I agree with dougdigitalpro - you never really know someone until you live with them. My wife has a few little "quirks", you know - leaving the cap off the toothpaste, never closing any door she's opened, stuff like that. I never would have known that if I hadn't lived with her. I am a neat freak, and I am sure that annoys the shit outta her too sometimes. The point is that you really need to know the person before you take a mad jump like that. I had to learn the hard way....I am now on my second marriage. I have been ass over teakettle in love before, but that and $4.00 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

The Beatles lied to us all - Love is NOT all you need. You need a shitload of PATIENCE too, especially when kids come along!

Love, peace, and chicken grease-

smjmcomic,

In love there is only one way to learn. And that is to live, love, and make mistakes...

Good luck! Most relationships that start quickly fail, but there are stories where it works...

Well I'm gona wait so I can save up enough to get her a somewhat nice ring I kinda through out the idea of me asking her just to see what she'd say and she kinda freaked out she gave me a bear hug and said that it would be like a dream come true I'm her "dream guy" I think I'm more like a nightmare but thats me.

smjmcomic,
Wow...I really don't want to give you advice because only you know your girl and if you really love her or not. But, I will say this...being twice married and twice divorced...I had two quick marriages. One was a rescue attempt. It lasted 6 years and we jumped ship only because we had different agendas. I think that's what you find out with long term dating. What are the financial, spiritual, and personal goals. I guess you just want to make sure that they meet your goals you've set for yourself too. Just remember this. Once you get married they don't "really" change. That's the way they were all the time. You just don't see it because you are infactuated and looking at the titties and ass all the time!! 8-o
