adopt a rottweiler-topeka kansas area

I know there are hundreds of stories like this every week, but if anyone lives near topeka kansas (Hoyt actually) and is willing to adopt a spayed female 3 1/2 year old Rottweiler, please contact the Hoyt Animal Hospital immediately.

Apparently an old lady has had the dog since she was a pup, but now her home insurance rates are going to go up if she doesn't get rid of it. So, she took the Rott to the Animal Hospital and paid a week's kennel rent. If no one adopts this girl, she'll be put down. I have as many dogs as the city will allow, so I'm trying to find anyone else that can help.

So far quite a few people know some people who probably want her, but at this moment she's still waiting for a new home. I hate to think of her being put down because of fucking insurance rates.

If anyone has room and love for her, please adopt her.

Okay, just heard back from the vet and things aren't as bleak as I'd heard. The previous owner was under a tight time constraint, but the staff at the animal hospital have no intention of putting her down. They want to find a good home as soon as possible, but unless it becomes a very drawn out thing, i.e. months, she'll be kept safe there. If worse comes to worse they're looking at turning her over to the humane society, but even that they're trying to avoid.

I assured the good dr. that I'd continue to try and find a home, and that if it ever became a kennel rent situation to call me.

btw, I don't think it could possibly take months, from what the vet says she is just an adorable pup who wants nothing more than to crawl up into your lap and be loved. But she is a Rott, so tends to be hard on her environment to an extent.

I'll update the board with news as I hear it.
