dougdigitalpro,
It's all a crap shoot anyway. It doesn't matter who is President. I don't even bother to vote. Fuck it! It's a waste of time.

dumbass,
Yeah, that's something isn't it. Pretty sad state of affairs. But the president usually reflects the state of the times and America is in pretty bad shape on a moral and ethical level anyway all around. If the thinking of the people as a whole doesn't change we are gonna continue to be led to the slaughter like the lambs most people have become.

dumbass,
Strong stuff.
I was listening to Ralph Nader last night at his "Convention" in Texas which was basically a small room with a flag draped in the back. But even though he doesn't have a shot in hell of becoming president, a lot of what he was saying was true and on point and I think it's a desservice to all of us that we write him off so casually as a kook. He doesn't have the money & power that the other two parties have, but he has the one thing in his favor that both parties lack and it's the tragedy of him running:
the truth.
You know, honestly, it was a time when I actually felt good to be an American. Even in dealing with the racism and shit I dealt with. I still felt good to be here and I felt there still was a chance that whatever was wrong could eventually be righted. It's despairing now because i honestly don't feel that way anymore and I don't know if it's age or is it because of where this country has went in the last twenty years. There's just no sense of good in anything anymore. Of people just "doin' the right thing" and i don't know honestly at this point if it can be fixed.
The corruption & demoralization has just went a little too deep and the dream of America may just be behind us for good.
Whatever innocence America had left in her died on Sept. 11th.

dougdigitalpro,
I feel you on the "truth".It's been a loss of innocence.

I went to Zimbabwe. I know how white people feel in America now; relaxed! Cause when I heard the police car I knew they weren't coming after me!

Something about the name "Hubpluh" just doesn't sit right. Backwards it spells Hulp Bu(s)h...
As for the visitor quote "Republican's Suck," I dated a republican, and they do, but not well...

If somebody was thinking, they would have spread a rumor that there were Grateful Dead/Phish shows at MSG all week and they were all sold out. Deadheads and Phish fans (the ones that don't pay attention to the news, and there are alot) from all over the country would flock to the Gardern all week long hoping to scalp tickets. With all the other shit going on, it would have been BEAUTIFUL!

astonamous,
The band at the convention did play "Jump" by Van Halen when they introduced George, Sr. You can't get more surreal than that!

dougdigitalpro,
It wasn't 9/11 that destroyed America. It was how our dickless/clueless leader reacted to it that killed us. That's probably why Osama waited - he was ready to do the deed in 2000 but he probably knew Clinton would not have reacted like an idiot and America would have held on to its friends.

Visitor,
Interesting point. The sadder thing is and what he can't escape or deny and what "Farenheit 9/11" illuminates so brilliantly is how the Bush family & Bin Laden family are so intertwined. This war is founded on more personal reasons than political ones. That's the scariest shit!

astonamous,
I look at the upcoming election this way: I may not like John Kerry, but he is not George Bush. That is enough for me! If Bush is allowed a second term, it is like telling him and his people that what he has done is right. I would vote for anyone other than Bush. Since I live in New York, and this state is solidly behind John Kerry, I may just lodge a protest vote and write in John McCain. Bush & McCain can't stand each other, and I actually like McCain. He's like a breath of fresh air in politics.
I am very afraid of what Bush would do with four years without restraint. He had to hold his agenda back, due to the need for reelection. Four years of pure Bush... That is scary...
